Poem

I didn't know what you were when
I saw you,
split skin and spilling
your guts on the ground.
you had
too many large ideas inside of you
to be this; too
much sweetness in your soft insides
to be that.
I thought you were like some thing
I'd tasted a long time ago
but no-one could say what. you were
like nothing
I had ever seen before.
carefully took you in my teeth, testing
the strength of your second skin
(the one you kept inside)
until it broke.
