You sweep, replace the candles and order new ones, dust the unbelievably fiddly (and beautiful) decorations on the Ark, keep a more competent handyman apprised of leaks and damage to the structure, take care of the siddurs and machzors, keep the Revi in fire and hot water, and set traps for mice. It's not as much work as it sounds like! The Revi does all the mystical maintenance you're not qualified for yet, so you have plenty of time for studying. But they're also showing you how they do it, so you think maybe they want you to be Revi some day. You can hardly dare to dream.
