E explains that ir thing is more like turning your experiences into maps, so you spend some time telling em about all the cool places you've been, and at the end e makes a perfect map. You think your guardian's surveyor coworkers would lose it if they saw how this game represents mapmaking. But the mapmaker at least circles some areas where you might be able to look for transportalizers, since apparently they tend to be in places that used to have cultural significance.
