You pick it up and sneeze; it seems like you stirred up a pile of ash that was on the ground next to it. Anyway, this probably isn't a walking stick. It's very straight, and weighted at both ends. You're pretty sure this is a weapon kind of staff. You don't really know how to use it as a weapon, and you don't feel like carrying it around, so you put it back where you found it.
