What you need to do is prevent the fire from getting too intense around the house, which is made of earth and theoretically won't burn. You haven't studied firebreaks specifically in school, but you've studied floodbreaks, and you understand the principle: you need to create a space clear of fuel large enough that the heat from the fire won't cause anything on the other side to spontaneously combust. That will require a chainsaw, or at the very least a shovel. The latter would be in the garden shed, but your guardian's chainsaw will be in the cellar. The shed isn't completely posslion-proof, and *no-one* wants a posslion with a chainsaw. Besides, if the shed isn't on fire now, it will be very soon.
